Volunteers' memo

For the convenience of volunteers, we have prepared a memo on the separate collection of garbage during our clean-ups. You can use it if you have any doubts.

Basic participation rules

Safety first! Be careful while dealing with potentially hazardous waste. Don’t walk on steep hillsides.

Take a bottle of water, headwear, sunscreen.

We will provide you with all necessary equipment, including gloves.

Always follow the instructions of the group coordinator!

After the clean-up please share your photos in social media and tag us ;)

Plastic – purple bag

OK

  • Only clean and new (transparent) plastic.
  • 1/PET Bottles
    Bottles for drinks and sunflower oil.
  • Hard 2/HDPE/PE
    Packaging for household chemicals, cosmetics, canisters, drinking yoghurt bottles, bags with handles.
  • Hard 4/LDPE/LE-LD
    Bottles, flacons, canisters from household chemicals, motor oil, cosmetics, and beverages marked with 4/LDPE.
  • Soft 2/HDPE and 4/LDPE plastic
    Transparent membrane, powder bags, bags with handles, packing bags, postal bags, cosmetic packaging, zip-lock bags, bubble wrap.
  • Hard 5/PP
    Cups for sour cream or yogurt and other food products, disposable tableware, drinking straws, cutting boards, containers, boxes, basins, buckets, toys.
  • Hard 6/PS
    Cups and containers for yogurt and other products, disposable tableware. We recommend avoiding this type of packaging due to its toxicity.

NOT OK

  • Dirty or muddy plastic
  • 1/PET/PETE other non bottles
    Disposable food containers, lids from disposable cups, trays from confectionery and other products. Jars of shampoos and other cosmetics.
  • Soft 5/PP
    Packaging for cereals, snacks, bakery and confectionery products.
  • Foamed 6/PS
    Vegetable and sliced mats, disposable take-away lunch boxes, polystyrene foam.
  • 7/OTHER
    Tubes, doypacks (from mayonnaise, baby food, coffee, pet food, cosmetics), and other combination packaging.
  • “Biodegradable” bags, balloons, latex
  • Shrink wrapped packaging, sports equipment

Metal – turquoise bag

OK

  • Aluminum cans for drinks
  • Tin cans
  • Metal lids
  • Small metal objects

NOT OK

  • Cans with traces of fat and food
  • Spray cans
  • Aluminium foil
  • Large metal objects (we collect them separately)

Glass – white bag

OK

  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Vials
  • Perfume bottles, deodorants
  • Glass tableware
  • Broken glass

NOT OK

  • Any bulbs
  • Ceramics and vases
  • Mirrors, decorative glass
  • Car windshields (triplex)

Other waste – black bag

We collect any other garbage (including dirty or muddy plastic) in the black bags.

If you find any syringes DON’T TOUCH IT BY HANDS. We collect them separately.

All bottle caps are collected separately in special boxes.
